Camvera Networks & PowerNet Global Communications Team Up to Provide Wireless VoIP
Cincinnati, OH, May 25, 2005 – PowerNet Global Communications, a leading integrated communications provider, announced today an agreement with Camvera Networks, a wireless broadband systems integration and management company, to trial VoIP services via fixed wireless access. “We’re going down the path to provide wireless broadband access and VoIP services to rural communities throughout the United States. Rural towns demand quality next generation services, states Mike Shaw, Vice President of Product Management and Network Solutions for PowerNet Global.
Historically rural communities have been ignored by the “big players,” and as a result have been offered sub-standard services. Since utility companies are not mandated to provide high speed Internet service the way they are required to provide basic telephone service, there are many regions where broadband service is not available, and probably won't be anytime soon. Camvera and PowerNet Global understand the demands driven by this consumer base and are committed to providing the highest quality of service in the fixed wireless broadband market.
“We are very excited to be working with PowerNet Global to trial VoIP in several of our existing municipal broadband markets. The first VoIP trials will use the Navini Rip Wave fixed wireless technology,” states Camvera Chief Operations Officer, Walt Henley.
PowerNet Global, in conjunction with Veraz, Sylantro, and Iperia networks, will team with the Camvera engineers to design the most cost effective and powerful solutions in today’s changing market.
