PNG LAUNCHES PowerConference(TM) initiative

Cincinnati, OH, October 13, 2003 (The Digest) - PowerNet Global Communications, a Cincinnati-based integrated communications provider, has launched its new PowerConference(TM) initiative -- a nationwide on-demand conference calling service aimed at business customers seeking to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

"The beauty of PowerConference is simplicity," said Larry Moses, Executive Vice President of Sales. "We establish a customer's account over the phone, there are no set-up fees or monthly commitments, and the rates are very competitive. Each customer then has 24-hour access to conference calling whether they have a scheduled meeting or need to conference on a moment's notice."

PowerNet Global will drive sales of the new service through its national agent channel, giving agents the flexibility of a wide range of per-minute rates and generous commissions.

The company also announced that it has selected JetStream Broadband, Inc. to deliver dedicated Internet services to small and medium-size enterprises in tier 2 and 3 markets. The product offers 384 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps service to over 350 tier 2 and tier 3 U.S. cities nationwide.

"JetStream gives us presence in markets where we could not compete in the past," said Larry Moses, Executive Vice President of Sales. "With this new initiative, our agents can compete confidently in smaller, underserved markets, offering business customers a complete Internet package that delivers increased service and efficiency at competitive costs."

PowerNet Global bundles the loop and router equipment as a package along with email and IP addresses, while still maintaining price points below many providers offering only connectivity.

About PowerNet Global

Founded in 1992, PowerNet Global (www.powernetglobal.com) offers a wide range of integrated voice, data, and Internet solutions to residential and commercial customers at the wholesale and retail levels. The company is headquartered in Cincinnati, and has offices in Jamestown, New York; Herndon, Virginia; and Chicago. PowerNet Global has achieved double-digit growth year after year (over 500% since 1999), tripled its customer base since January 2000, and grown to about 300 employees and 2000 agents. Its consistent growth--throughout the telecom industry downturn--has come through developing/marketing an expanding array of competitive products and acquisitions.

For example, the company's acquisition of Aleron, one of the first Internet backbone providers to use multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) across its core, gives PowerNet Global one of the industry's most scalable and reliable communication networks. The backbone provides OC-48 bandwidth across the country, resulting in significantly enhanced cost efficiencies and reach. With several "top 10" U.S. ISPs as customers, the company has more than three million unique users accessing the Internet through its network monthly.
